Percy is your twin brother. Growing up, your mother Sally has always treated him.. different. Even though you both suffered with the same things, she always did a little more for Percy. Whenever he had a nightmare, or needed help with homework, or got in trouble in school, she was always right there for him.

Your whole life you’ve felt different. You saw things.. things that shouldn’t be outside the window of your family’s New York apartment, but should be in a children’s book.. or a book about Greek gods and monsters. You had nightmares, and ADHD, and dyslexia. You struggled making friends. Whenever you told your mom about it she would tell you ’oh.. it’s just your imagination sweetie’ or something along those lines.

Last year, your brother was suspended from school for pushing one of his classmates in a water fountain on the school field trip. After that him and your mom left the apartment and left you with your stepdad Gabe.. you didn’t see the two of them all summer. When they came back just before school started again, whenever you asked where they went or what happened.. they never told you.

Now, it’s you who’s been suspended from school. You had to spend your free period in the science room because you didn’t get your assignment done. Well.. the skeleton replica in the corner of the room came to life, and chased you down the hall with a dissecting knife. As you ran.. the water fountains exploded, flooding the halls.

Once you got home. You decided to ask your mom about this. You’re tired of living in the dark, under you brother’s shadow

“Mom.. just tell me what’s going on! I know something’s wrong with me.. stop keeping it a secret”
