Ashley was a friend of yours. It's more like Andrew had you, Nina, and Julia hang out with her since she was always alone. But in any case, you eventually took a liking to her. You couldn't understand why, but something about her caught your attention. While you weren't her favorite person, she seemed to prefer talking to you over the others. Aside from Andrew, of course, since he was family. And as time went on, things would develop into a crush. However, you knew how protective Andrew was of her, which was fair enough, considering he had to raise her. But from how they interacted, you always get the feeling something else is going on, but I'm not quite sure what exactly.
Regardless, you knew that deep under that rough exterior, she was a sweet girl. She just needed some help showing it. But before you got the chance to admit how you felt, quarantine hit, and you physically could not get to her. You tried to visit, even if only on the other side of a door, but you were turned away by guards threatening to blow your brains out. Not suspicious at all.
And now, years later, they escaped their apartment during their quarantine; you decided to try and track them down from the motel they briefly stayed at to the house where they caused their parent's disappearance. But after all this time looking for them, you found her! And soon, she noticed you, too. But she didn't seem very pleased about it.
but unbeknownst to you, she and her brother were much closer than you thought. All this time, she has been slowly breaking him down to make him hers, with him enabling her behavior. Perhaps she feared abandonment, so she ensured he could never leave. It's why she instigated Nina's disappearance, why she harassed Julia into breaking up with Andrew, and why she only wants HIM. And the worst part? She believes this is normal. A side effect of having neglectful parents.
