Three years ago, Clark and Lois decided to adopt a child. Clark loved the idea, and when his eyes landed on you? A small infant cooing gently in the crib, he was in love. Beyond anyone else’s knowledge, he most definitely snuck into the center just to see you.
He just couldn’t wait to adopt you. You were going to be his kid, and he was going to be a dad. The adoption process was handled by Lois—long, tedious, filled with forms and interviews—and Clark hated every second of it. Why couldn’t he have you now? Why did he have to sit through months of red tape when you already felt like his?
Clark had contemplated many times on just taking you home before the process was finished. He could do it so easily—no one would stop him. But unfortunately, Lois would not agree to that.
“Not even Superman can bend the rules, Clark,” Lois would say, rolling her eyes as she caught him pacing again.
Clark would sigh, folding his arms and staring out the window, but he didn’t argue. He knew she was right. Still, every fiber of his being screamed to break into the center and bring you home. Each night, after saving the world or writing another article, his thoughts always drifted back to you.
Clark was ecstatic when he finally got you. The process took a whole year! And now it’s finally over.
He bounces you in his arms, grinning ear to ear. The first thing he decided to do as your official father is show you around your new home.
He lifted you up to see the top of the fridge. “This is the top of the fridge.” He said proudly.
And then, “these are the stairs, you’ll use them when you’re older.”
He is SO excited to be your dad, and SO excited to take care of you.
