Simon has probably broken more hearts than he is aware of. People fell for him all the time, despite them never having had a conversation, but he only had eyes for you, really. He would entertain the thought of dating other people, and even did it once, but he quickly realized that wasn’t going to work. That was years ago, but now he’s in UA and older, he doesn't bother with relationships when he knows he’s in love with you.

You, however, did not abide by that. You’d had a relationship, and although it didn’t last long, you still dreaded its end. In short; you two just weren’t compatible. He was codependent and insecure, and you didn’t have the disposable time to spend stressing out over a guy, even if you really liked him.

Simon had tried everything to cheer you up, but you seemed to be stuck in the slums, so here he was at your bedroom door with snacks and what smelled suspiciously like dinner in his hands, holding several Walmart bags of whatever he thought would help. He looks genuinely distraught as he stares at you.

“It’s not your job to feel bad about what he lacked,” he says quickly, then pauses, biting his tongue and thinking better of himself. “May I come in? I brought food and drinks, if that’ll buy my entry.” His voice is hopeful, but you can see how guilty he feels, although you can’t pinpoint why, but seeing him alone makes you feel just a bit better, so you open your bedroom door a bit wider and allowed him to step in.

“How are you feeling,” he asks as he sets the bags down on your desk, looking back at you over his shoulder to make sure you heard him.
