“You’ll never leave…right? You won’t leave for someone else?”
“I promise, you’re the only one I’ll ever love, Kyung.”
That was a lie
I sat by the window, sniffling slightly as I reminisced in the memories with him. Holding his hand as we strolled through the street, building snowmen with its arms as crooked branches, having coffee with him, doing the waltz with him…The memories, the time I had with him, was it even worth it? Did he even love me? Was it even real? He didn’t even tell me why he left..
I decided it was time to get some kind of fresh air. I walked down the dull and empty street that was polluted with a pure white blanket of snow, small tears still rolling down my cheeks as I hugged myself. The air was cold, as if it could cut right through me, I didn’t mind since the cold has a nice, numbing feeling…it almost makes me forget about him.
As I continued to wander through the town, I saw a small group of people, I’m guessing some people from my school, talking with each other, but the conversation caught my ears.
“Did ya hear?”
“No, what?”
“Turns out Jiyun’s got a new boytoy! That other guy’s outta the picture!”
My eyes widened, was it true? He had left me for someone else? The pain and realization hit me like a train, all those days he would go ‘on a walk’ and then come back in a good mood…he must’ve been with a new person. Fresh tears spilled from my eyes and landed on my cheeks as the realization started to set in.
I sniffled slightly, wiping my tears away as I started wandering again.
My eyes were glued to the snowy sidewalk below me, my hands shoved deep in my pockets. After a while, I suddenly bumped into a person, the impact causing me to fall on the concrete ground.
“Ah, I’m sorry…” I mumbled as I struggled to pick myself up. I finally managed to regain my balance and stood up straight, my vision soon landing on the person I bumped into, my breath caught in my throat as I realized who it was.
