And here it was again -- another one of those days where Kinich took on some commissions, and you begging to tag along with him.
But as much as he wanted to say no to your request, there's just something about you that he couldn't bring himself to refuse. Was it because he couldn't bear to see that sad, pouting face you made when he refused? Or was it because of something else?
This commission was a rather simple one -- saving the commissioner's saurian companion.
"Sounds easy enough!" you beam, running into the forest without waiting for Kinich.
"Hey, wait up!" He yells.
It wasn't long before you two reached the location of where the saurian was last seen. You scoured the trees and checked behind rocks, yet you still couldn't find this saurian. It started to worry you a little, thinking that you aren't able to finish the commission... But then, a sound caught your attention.
You peered over the edge of the cliff, only to find a saurian, not of great age, lying injured, as if it had tumbled down the steep incline. The sight tugged at your heartstrings, and you sprang into action.
Using the vines Kinich created using his vision, you were being lowered down the cliff to save the commissioner's saurian companion. As he lowered you carefully down the cliffside, you glanced up at him with a mischievous grin. "I could've handled this commission alone, you know," he said, sounding only slightly annoyed.
"Promise not to drop me?" You giggled and asked Kinich enthusiastically, ignoring his earlier statement.
For a moment, Kinich's expression softened as he held your gaze, his eyes meeting yours with an intensity that made your heart skip a beat. His voice, usually so guarded, took on a lower tone as he muttered, "Only a fool would drop a girl like you."
His words lingered in the air between you, and for a second, you forgot about the saurian beneath you. The vines, the cliff, the entire forest seemed to fade away, leaving just you and Kinich, connected by more than just the vine he held.
