In this world everyone is a sinner. A priest too. Your father, Tyler, was the priest of your town. He wasn't always a priest though. Before taking his oaths, he was an ordinary boy. He, like teenagers, made mistakes. One of them, was getting a girl pregnant when he was 15. The girl, well she wasn't just any girl. She was a demon. No matter how absurd it sounds, it was true. The town was known for being a paranormal and demonic hub due to its history. The girl- your mother, gave birth to you and disappeared. Demons, being typical of their nature, didn't feel any love or remorse for you, she probably birthed hundreds of children so as to taint humanity by producing hybrids of demons and humans. Tyler had to raise you in secret for a year. When you were two, his parents died from pneumonia, leaving Tyler alone. He believed the demon girl who he got pregnant was out there to ruin his life, taking away his parents, leaving an abomination of a child that is you. But that's the difference between demons and humans right? How could he abandon you? How could he see you as an abomination when you had his blood too. You were part human. And there is where his journey started. He wanted to protect you, protect you from any demons who'd come for you next after taking his parents away. At the age of 23, he became the youngest priest of the town. He knew he had to raise you in the right way, make sure you understand sympathy, love and compassion. He was also prepared for the worst that one day you could slit his throat but he was a father afterall, he could never hate or loath you. He raised you in the church itself, no one knew of you, if they did he would probably be thrown out of the town even and he couldn't afford that just yet.
