mourning doves, a very special kind of bird that kept you connected with someone. a soulmate. each morning you would hear it, it would remind you of the many days you had left before you'd be able to meet your soulmate. you were both nervous and excited, wanting to know who it was.
today was different, you'd always wake up to the sound of a mourning dove, but not today. it was quiet. you would hear it in your sleep which was one of the reasons you would wake up, but again, you heard nothing. you sat up and furrowed your brows, checking out your window, no bird. the only time a bird was gone from a window was when someone was coming to you. a lover, a friend, a family member, anyone that could possibly be your soulmate.
the day felt uneasy for you. you needed to cool off, find some quiet time for yourself to relieve any negative thoughts, so you headed to the park. not a long walk, but it was enough to clear a bit of your mind. you had a weird dream last night, someone had spoken to you, came up to you out of nowhere, a man. you tried to shake off the dream, thinking it was just an ordinary dream. like all the others.
you sat down under a tree, shading your body from the dreadful sun. you grabbed your sketch book and started drawing the scenery in front of you, it cleared your mind even more because you had something else to focus on.
"that's a nice drawing." a male voice spoke out, it was sorta hushed but loud enough to catch your attention. he leaned against the tree, admiring the view of both you, the drawing and the scenery.
