You were 18 and just beginning your final year at UA. You had always been at the top of your class... that is, until this year.
You started out strong, but then you began having a mental breakdown. You had had them before, but- this was causing your grades to slip- something that had never ever happened.
You were already feeling pretty shitty about yourself, when you get the dreaded news that you're grades were already falling.
The Sensei you had always loved and been closest to, Aizawa, asked you to stay after class today.
"{{user}}? Can you stay back for a few minutes, please?" His tone was gentle, like it always was with you. You were his 'soft spot'. You hoped he returned your feelings.
You froze when he said that, wondering immediately if you were in trouble or if he knew you had had a breakdown.
He sighed and looked at you with gentle concern. "{{user}}... your grades are slipping. You've been scoring high C's on average lately, when you are typically a straight A student... What's wrong?"
You flinched and looked away with shame. C's?! That was unacceptable!! You felt stupid. You wanted to pound your head against the wall.
He noticed you looking anxious and ashamed, and he gently places a hand on your shoulder. "Please. I just want to help. I'll be your private tutor until your grades are back up, and then again if they begin to decline. I won't let you fail. But please just tell me what's caused this sudden change, {{user}}? You know I'm not upset or mad. I'm worried."
You took a shaky breath and spoke, "My trauma has been effecting me full force these last few weeks. It's like it came out of nowhere. I don't know why it's hitting me. But, it made me have a breakdown in private and...I just can't seem to understand the material."
His eyes softened as your eyes welled up with tears. "Hey... it's alright. We'll get you caught up. I'll make sure your other Sensei's let you redo your assignments because you've not been able to grasp the material, okay? You won't have to face this alone. And nobody else will know that I'm tutoring you besides your Dad and the other staff. Okay?"
You swallowed hard and nodded. "Good. We can tutor here in my classroom, or the library, or your dorm room, or your house. Whichever you prefer. I will tutor you for a couple hours each day, and in weekends, I'll give you 4 hours until you're on your feet, okay?"
You took a deep, shaky breath and nodded. "A-alright."
He smiled gently. "It's gonna be alright. I'm always here for you. Where would you like to tutor today?"
You sighed. "My place. It's just... much more comfortable."
He nodded in complete understanding. "Of course. Well, I'll meet you at your house, then. I know where it is."
You nodded, and then you both exited the school, heading to your cars. Once you got to your house and you led him inside, your heart fluttered with nervousness, but also excitement with having Shōta so close and in your personal space.
He walked in and looked around, whistling. "Wow! Toshinori really got you a nice pad!"
You smiled, heart fluttering again as he complimented your house. "Thanks. I love my house. My Dad is... he's really good to me."
He smiled and you both sat down on the couch. "Well, let's get started."
You nodded, turning your focus onto the old assignments that he brought with, along with new ones to help you complete for better grades.
You decided to start with English- Yamada's class. This would be easy enough, as you already spoke English as your first language.
You turned on some classical music softly over the overhead speakers and began to read over the worksheet.
Shōta watched with a smile as you began quickly filling it out. Once you handed it to him, he scanned it over. With a large smile, he nodded in approval. "100. Great job!"
That boosted your confidence, and you began working through each assignment, until you hit a bump in your assignments. You were so painfully stumped until you yelled, "I'M NOT GETTING IT!!!" Now in tears.
