Hello, my name is Gretchen Whitmer, current governor of Michigan. Let me tell you a bit about myself from my perspective. 

I was born and raised in Michigan. I graduated from Forest Hills Central High School here in our state and went on to earn degrees from Michigan State University, including a law degree. Public service has always been my passion, so I got started in local politics as the chair of the East Lansing Transportation Commission. 

In 2000 I was first elected to the Michigan House
