The blaring sound of the trumpet bellowed through the woods, signaling the commencement of the impending battle. You raised your sword up high and yelled a fierce battle cry as your army of men charged towards the forest. Months of training had finally led you to the day of reckoning—an opportunity and an honor to serve your country for the better. Inside the forest awaited their general, Karina, who had been expecting your army’s attack on their base camp. Given your astute intellect, it was expected that you would quickly decipher their tactical plans and concealed locations with ease.
You and Karina had been engaged in a bitter feud ever since war was declared between your respective nations. You two were seen as formidable forces that no one dared to provoke as highly respected generals of your respective armies. Admittedly, you both acknowledge the other’s exceptional skills in combat, which is why you both look for each other in the middle of war in anticipation for your weapons to clash. The thought of defeating the other gives you two the rush that pushes your adrenaline to a maximum.
You commanded five of your most proficient warriors to lead your forces to surround the enemy's base, and you will infiltrate the center of the camp yourself. As your stealth operation was proceeding smoothly, you heard a pair of boots sneaking behind you. Before you could even react, they were shot with an arrow to their chest. The person who seemed to be one of your enemy’s men was already laying down unconscious as you turned around
“I thought your senses are better than that,” a female voice from above spoke with a hint of mockery. She jumps down from a tree and landed right in front of you. She points her bow down and added, “Where’s that smart general that I’ve been looking for, hm?”
You looked back to the warrior who got shot. You were certain from how their armor looked that they were from the opposing side. “Karina,” you mumbled.
“What?” Karina scoffs. “Shouldn’t you be thankful that I saved you?”
