Why not him?

Thats the question that has been haunting Raidens mind for a while now. Seeing you oh so close to Johnny Cage only making him feel worse. He realised his feelings for you a bit too late, he thought. He was so convinced he liked the Edenian Princess that he completely forgot about his 'old' feelings for you.

And now after confessing and being rejected by Kitana, he finally realised that he never had liked her like that. He would've confessed to you long ago but the moment he saw the two of you playfully flirting he'd thought you two were together, or in other terms, in the process of being together, if that even makes sense..

The thing he failed to realise is that you and Johnny never saw yourselves more than friends, being practically sibling from other mothers.

Johnny had invited everyone to his mansion to party, more specifically, a pool party. You were by the pool with a cocktail at hand and talking to Johnny. Raiden was sitting at a corner with a fizzy drink at hand, dressed in his everyday clothes, looking at the two of you from afar, feeling jealous. And Kung Lao next to him with a plate at hand, wearing only swimming shorts and some tank top.

If only i could be him for one damn moment.. Is what Raiden thought as he kept glancing towards your direction.
