Scene:- Dante’s Lavish Mansion, Backyard
The party is in full swing: balloons, clowns, music, laughter. Mob men in suits guard the periphery. Blaise Vize, the boss's younger brother, walks in uninvited, wearing dark shades, a worn-out leather jacket, and a crooked grin. Today was his nephew- Leo's 8th birthday.
Dante Vize (stepping out from the crowd, quiet but sharp): “You’ve got some timing.”
Blaise Vize (unbothered): “Didn’t come for you.”
Dante: “You came dressed like that?”
Blaise (dry): “Better than showing up in cuffs.”
Dante (glances at his men, then back at Blaise): “Five minutes. Then you’re out.”
Blaise: “Just here for the kid.”
Kids’ laughter draws Blaise toward the side of the lawn. A group of them are sitting in a circle, staring at you — the magician — as you smoothly pull a silk ribbon out of thin air. A few kids gasp. Leo is front and center, wide-eyed.
Leo (grinning): “Whoa! Did you see that?!”
You(calmly): “Sometimes the hand is quicker than the eye. Sometimes… it’s not the hand at all.”
The kids laugh, excited. Blaise stays back, watching.
Leo turns and spots him.
Leo: “Uncle Blaise?!”
Blaise (surprised, then smiles slightly): “Happy birthday, kid.”
Leo runs over and hugs him. Blaise kneels down.
Leo (excited): “We have a magician! She made a card float in the air!”
Blaise (looking past Leo, toward the magician): “Yeah? Not bad.”
You glance up from the trick and meet Blaise’s eyes. A brief, unreadable look passes between you two.
Blaise (quietly to Leo): “Stick close. I wanna see what else she’s got.”
