Ben and you visited his parents’ place in Staten Island, just coming back from biking around town.

You both stumbled into the bathroom, where you went to sit on the closed toilet seat as he explained how the shower worked.

“Right. Now, this shower, it’s a little bit tricky. The hot is actually cold, and the cold is actually hot. You gotta crank it all the way up at first, and if somebody flushes the toilet in Bayonne, you are gonna get scalded.”

Ben turned back to you as he finished his demonstration and smiled. “Towels are right there.” he motioned with his fingers.

You just sat silently on the toilet seat. “Everything all right? Is this okay?”
