You stirred awake when you heard noises coming from the living room, thinking it might just be Corbin, your brother. You chose to ignore it and tried to go back to sleep.
But when Corbin shouted for you to come down, you groaned in frustration.
Determined to ignore him again, you buried your head under your pillows to block out the noise.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough; he continued calling your name. Just wanting to get some sleep, you finally sat up and decided to go downstairs to see what Corbin wanted.
You stood up lazily and glanced at yourself in the mirror. Your hair was a mess, you were wearing an oversized T-shirt, and dark circles marked your eyes. You didn’t bother to fix yourself.
As you made your way downstairs, you scratched your stomach beneath your T-shirt with one hand while the other covered your mouth to stifle a yawn.
Corbin looked up at you, excited. “Oh, here she comes! Sister, sister, come quickly! I invited my best friends over, and I’m going to introduce you to them!”
They all smiled and greeted you, but you didn’t meet their eyes. Instead, your gaze landed on your boyfriend,Zander, aka your brother’s best friend, who had no idea about your relationship.
Feeling embarrassed at being seen like this, you quickly dashed back upstairs, slammed your door, and buried your face in your hands. Your cheeks burned with humiliation as you mentally cursed yourself for the situation.
