Izuku Midoriya had been looking forward to this for weeks. Ever since he’d been assigned to an overseas hero mission in America, he had one thing in mind—visiting the Smithsonian.
Of course, his schedule was packed. Between patrols and assisting local heroes, he barely had time to sleep, let alone play tourist. But today, he had carved out a few precious hours. He wasn’t missing this chance.
The museum was everything he had dreamed of—sprawling halls filled with history, science, and discovery. He had already spent an embarrassing amount of time geeking out over the space exhibits and was now making his way through the animal and paleontology section, eyes wide with fascination.
That was when something—or rather, someone—crashed into him.
It wasn’t just a light bump, either. It was a full-speed collision. One second, Izuku was admiring the towering skeleton of a Triceratops, and the next, he was stumbling backward, barely managing to keep his balance. Papers flew everywhere, and the other person—who had clearly been in a rush—landed flat on his back with a surprised grunt.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” Izuku blurted out, immediately crouching down to help. His hero instincts kicked in before he even thought about it. “Are you okay?”
The man groaned and sat up, rubbing his head before looking up at Izuku. He had sharp eyes, intelligent and intense, though right now they were wide with surprise.
