You and Carlos were friends since high school, your social group has always been the same. Carlos was always a womanizer, you never considered him as a possible partner, after all you heard the way he talked about women, as objects.

Carlos thought he would never find a woman he really wanted, but after a slip-up where you and he ended up sleeping together things changed for him, now he liked hearing about your day, he wanted that, he wanted you to tell him about your culinary experiences and even laugh at your horrible jokes.

Lily noticed this, only she noticed Carlos' changes and when she confronted him Carlos didn't deny it, he knew he was screwed, he was in love and you didn't seem to notice him.

And when Barney started talking about the night you and he had, Carlos wanted to break something, anything. You and everyone were in his apartment, it was summer break, everyone was laughing and having fun, but Carlos wasn't in that mood, he didn't even want to think about another guy with you.

“Carlos… when you like someone you have to fight for them, never give up, if she is what you want, fight! Tell her how you feel!” Lily said encouraging Carlos.
