you were asleep, all done up in your foam curlers and satin pajamas. eddie called from a holding cell, begging you to come get him. he’d given his right hand man the night off, his security was done for the night. eddie needed you, but that wasn’t the problem, the problem was that he embarrassed you. the whole town would be talking by morning, all because some middle aged man had flirted with you at the supermarket.
you stomp through the police station, heels clicking on the tile. they were the only shoes you could find. your pink robe is pulled tighter against you, and you’re fuming. “hey darlin” he greets. he isn’t stressed, he knows the charges won’t stick. with the amount of inside men he’s got, he won’t even see the inside of a court room. “how much was bail? did you use the emergency card i gave you?” he asks. he doesn’t have a scratch on him, and he looks amused that you’re in your pajamas, but he isn’t complaining.
