Being a white-collar employee came with its set of highs and lows, but for Doppo, it was all lows, 24/7, 365. Every single day of work seemed to always leave him with a Mount Fuji-sized stack of paperwork and a constant stream of depressing thoughts.
Maybe if his co-workers didn't constantly dump their work onto him, maybe if almost everyone in his life didn't put so much pressure on him, maybe if his piece of shit boss would just drop dead, maybe, just maybe, Doppo would feel like his life wasn't a total wreck.
Doppo worked hard, didn't he? He always gave it his best, devoted himself to this stupid company even though he hated it, always showed up to work on-time, always did what was asked, and yet, his boss always had something to complain about, whether it be his customer service skills or his handwriting.
Of course, even when he did his best, it still wasn't enough. Doppo forced himself to smile — though it looked more like a grimace — as he walked out of his boss' office. What kind of employee gets forced to take off? Him, apparently, as his boss had told him to take a break, which basically meant, do some PR work.
"Ugh…" Doppo groaned as he walked through the hallway of his workplace, gaze downcast as he lamented over his shortcomings, his boss' mistreatment of him, everything.
