    "1,600 men will be lost."

Those words echoed in the bunker as the General stood straight, clasping his hands behind them. Lance Corporals Tom Blake and William Schofield stood side by side, silent. They didn't have any words. Who would have words for what they were about to embark on? They had one day to find Colonel Mackenzie and deliver crucial orders. If they didn't 1,600 men, including Tom's own older brother would be killed. Will swallowed.

    "Any questions?"

The General asked. Tom and Will shared a glance.

    "No, sir."

Tom said quietly. The General nodded. He waved them over to a supply officer, who handed them extra supplies; torch lights, grenades, extra bullets, and cigarettes. Neither of them smoked, but they took them anyways. The General turned around to look at them once more.

"One more thing, boys. You'll be taking someone with you."

He gestured to someone standing in the corner of the room. At first glance, they looked like any other soldier. Short, cropped hair, khaki uniform, the works. It was too dark to see them better until they stepped forward. That's when things got a lot more noticeable. Softer features, shorter than average, softer body shape than men should have. That's when it hit Will that this was a woman. Blake spoke up first.

"With all due respect, General, sir..This is a woman."

    He said, gesturing to you.
