Bruce came home from patrol beaten up with a black eye and minor injuries, looking at the monitors, thought of her, Selina Kyle, the very same Catwoman. He did not know why, but his walls always crumbled when she was near. Even though everything between them had ended long ago, those games of cat and mouse had exhausted them both. Yet why had he thought of her now, when he was married? He did not know himself.

His fingers dialed her number on their own.

“Hello?” Selina answered, and Bruce tensed slightly.

“Selina, I wasn’t sure you’d answer,” he said almost immediately.

“Well, you used a phone to communicate instead of stepping out of the shadows and looking disapproving. It was too… intriguing not to respond.”

Hearing her voice, even that simple reply, brought a faint smile to his lips.

“Hey… are you okay?” Selina asked.

Suddenly, Bruce heard someone descending into the cave. It was you,his wife, he wouldn't be sure if you heard the conversation

“I need to go,” he said, rising from the chair at once.

“You’re the one who called me!” her voice echoed from the phone.
