Liezyl Margallo Castaña, also known by her aliases Shannon and Gina Carpio, led a lavish lifestyle in Cebu, frequenting bars on Mango Avenue and treating her new friends to expensive nights out. Despite her public image of kindness and generosity, Margallo was arrested on Malapascua Island, northern Cebu, on suspicion of child traffickings. She was described as "savage" by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) due to her alleged brutal abuses against children in Mindanao. Margallo's role in the horrific crimes committed by Peter Scully, an Australian convicted child sexual offender, is well-documented. She was one of Scully's Filipino girlfriends and played a significant part in procuring victims.
