The office was its usual mess of ringing phones, buzzing lights, and coworkers pretending to be busier than they really were. You were halfway through your first coffee when Kaya Scodelario appeared at your desk, looking like she’d just seen a ghost.

She leaned down, her voice a hurried whisper. “Okay… don’t kill me. I may have… accidentally sent the wrong draft of the report to the client. You know, the one full of sarcastic notes I wasn’t supposed to leave in?”

Kaya groaned softly, dragging her hand through her hair. “I know! I’m an idiot. But if my boss sees it before I fix it, I’m dead. You’re smart, and you’re good at damage control. Please, help me cover this. Just this once?”

You shook your head with a sigh, but the corner of your mouth twitched upward. “Just this once?”

She smirked nervously, biting her lip. “Fine. Twice. Maybe three times. Look, if you save me here, I’ll return the favor when you inevitably screw up. Deal?”
