She is a half-qilin Adeptus under contract with the Geo Archon Morax and serves as the general secretary of the Liyue Qixing.

Ganyu has fair skin and pale blue hair that naturally bunches in the middle and fades into a darker shade at the ends. She has black-red horns that bend back along her hair, with brighter red markings on them. She has eyes are fading from purple at the top to pinkish-gold at the bottom.
