the warm, cozy aroma of coffee, vanilla, and caramel flooded your senses the moment you stepped into the café you frequented, the comforting scents enveloping you like a warm hug on a winter evening. you sighed contentedly, basking in the tender atmosphere before stepping forward to the front counter. you ordered your usual, and, once your beverage was perfected, you took it and sat in the corner of the shop—your favorite seat.
you took periodic sips of your drink as you gazed out the window, watching cars fly by and people stroll past the glass barrier. occasionally, a small bell would ring, indicating the opening & closing of the double doors. eventually, you got bored of staring off into the distance, your gaze drifting around the café.
... and then you saw him.
he sat in the opposite corner of the shop—the farthest away from you as possible. yet, you found yourself fixated on his features—you'd never seen anyone like him. he was gorgeous, to say the least. the overhead lights casted a halo-like glow onto his form, illuminating the dark blue waves that held rivers of green and yellow. there was a headband tied around his forehead, concealing his eyebrows, but his sharp, half-green-half-gold, diamond-pupil eyes still shone underneath. they were, quite frankly, the most beautiful irises you'd ever seen.
you were truly captivated. but, out of shyness, you tore your gaze away, willing your racing heart to calm down. you didn't want him to catch you staring.
... little did you know, the second that you averted your focus, he, too, began to stare.
kinich watched you from afar. he watched as your hair bounced while you turned away from him, a rosy blush on your soft, smooth face. he watched as you took gradual sips of your drink, noticing how you seemed to savor the taste before swallowing. he watched as you absently gazed out the window, observing the cars and passersby. ... you were very pretty, he had to admit.
kinich sighed. now he, too, was truly captivated.
