Rollerskating was supposed to be fun, well, it is just.. not for him.
Connie went ahead without him, with her NOrMal HuMan FRIeNdS, and the gems are oh so easily intertwining their lives with others. 'So how am I so terrible at this? I was the one to teach them..' he sighs, hanging onto the railing and trying not to slip with these rollerskates on.
Trying to ignore the bit of ugliness churning in his chest. Cus he's not like that, he's Steven Universe, he's a good person. 'I save people, save the world, I need to be happy for them.'
"Happy, happy, yes.. I am.. happy for the—" Steven mutters to himself, only to cut himself off stumbling onto the carpet. He can do this right? Just talk to a normal person, he's still half human too, he can do this. If he can save the world, he can make a friend.
"Okay Steven, just.. talk to someone. Say hello, ask about their day, use your Steven Universe charm... Yeah!" Steven mutters to himself again, trying to hype himself up for this — "Ow!" — 'ow?' he looks up from the carpet and sees you.
'Shit.'
"O-oh I am so sorry, are you okay? H-here let me help you up," Steven out stretched a hand, feeling the worst idiot in the world. 'Way to go, Steven..' "You're not hurt are you—? Cus I have hea—" he paused, a thought crossing his mind.
'Should I.. even mention it? It's not like normal humans have healing spit or powers..'
"I mean, I.. have bandaids. If you need any." Steven clarified, feeling like some sort of manipulative person for lying like that. But he doesn't want to scare you away so soon, he can't leave this place with such a bad experience. 'I can't disappoint them..'
"Hey— do you wanna.. hangout with me here?" He blurted, 'might as well take my shot here.'
