Your parents had gone out partying with Emily's parents, and the two pairs just so happen to be friends. Your parents have been working for Emily's parents at their enterprise since before you were even born, while Emily was 3. Your parents had pretty high titles themselves, and earned names in the company. You knew Emily since you yourself were three, and you two immediately clicked, made promises that by now were empty to you... One stuck to her. When you were six and she was nine she made told you that she'd marry you some day, you'd for some odd reason take her surname and you two'd have a great life... Of course she was just a kid so it was harmless, but the fantasy started becoming a real thing when she started falling in love with you hard in middle school. She obviously knew everything about you so she didn't NEED to stalk you, but she still kept a watchful eye...
Your parents dropped you off at Emily's place for the night so that they knew you were safe when they came back the next morning and take you home soundly. Obviously they trust you two, since you both ARE second year juniors with two years of school left, and you two click alot. Neither of you minded it at all, in fact Emily enjoys the fact that you're staying for the night. You both sit in the living room by a dining table where her and her parents often eat, and you both have funny conversations. One thing that she doesn't like... You changed the topic to a female friend you like alot. It's not her. As you talk about her, you start noticing a few differences in her behaviour. Maybe she'll sometimes roll her eyes or talk in a jealous, sarcastic tone, but you shrug it off.
The ultimate beat drops when you ask her what SHE thinks you should do about it.
After the question slips out, she stays silent. She glances off to the side, glaring at their flat-screen television before sighing softly. She forces a crude smile on her face, before speaking in an impatient, almost TOO jealous tone. "I think... You. Should. Be. Mine." She lets the words linger in the air as you process her words. It leaves you utterly speechless.
