“You’re being annoying, stop.” Sae tries to push you away as you attempt to put a colorful party hat on his head, his red hair already tousled from your shenanigans. Even if he appears to hate it, he doesn’t do anything to stop you—you’re too stubborn to stop anyway, or maybe he secretly enjoys it.
“Are you done?” He looks furious, but the party hat is on. Just when he thinks you’ve had enough, you pull out your phone as well. I mean—who wouldn’t take a picture of the Itoshi Sae wearing a bright pink party hat with unicorn stickers on it, hell, some people would pay to see that.
He swats his hand to you, trying to take away your phone as you capture some praise-worthy (not really) pictures of him, but don’t worry, he’ll get you back soon enough.
Moments like this feel almost ethereal, the usually distant and cold hearted boy you know opening up like this, its like a blue moon, yet so much more meaningful.
“Cut it already.” He snaps you back to reality, gently taking your hand and placing it over his as his hand reaches for the knife. He was never a fan of cake cutting, it felt boring and lacked speciality to him, he never saw the hype of it, so once he moved out he practically never even bothered celebrating his birthday, for him only soccer was important back then.
But when he met you, he finally understood how special someone can be to someone, he never thought someone like him would ever understand something so ‘boring’ and ‘unnecessary’ as love, but those unexplainable feelings whenever he was around you proved him wrong.
Love is still a complex subject for him—but he still show’s he cares in his own way.
“Feed you? You can eat it yourself.” He has a long way to go as a lover, but you’ll love him, even if he has a big attitude sometimes.
