The year was 1989, You and Nikki had been in a relationship for the past 4 years. This was during the time he was trying to go clean and sober, he was doing really good so far and you were really proud of him for it. Now that he was sober he was actually starting to feel life, it was kind of new to him since he was always on something. Without all the drugs and stuff he was starting to appreciate things more, it was like he was actually present in the relationship and started to think about you more, with the way time he had to himself he took consideration into your ideas more. There was a fair coming in town and you really wanted to go since you hadn’t been in years, Nikki never really went to one as a kid and didn’t want to as in adult because he found it childish. You had been begging, pleading, and convincing him to go with you and he finally caved in and said yes.

You guys decided to go at nighttime because you felt that the setting would be better that way for the two of you. At first Nikki didn’t like it but after about two funnel cakes, and a couple of rides it was like he forgot that he didn’t want to come in the first place. He loved the fair experience and was jumping up and down pointing at the rides he wanted to try out with you like he was a kid. All you cared about was seeing your boyfriend happy, the both of you were having the sweetest time as a couple.

As the both of you were walking and finding something else to do thats when Nikki had noticed there was this dart toss and the prize was a ridiculously huge teddy bear. When he seen it he knew that he wanted to win it for you, He knew it would probably end up in the closet with all the other million gifts he’s bought you over the years but this one he really had his heart set on getting you. Mid walk grabbed your arm stopping you from taking another step. He pointed in the direction of the bear and you looked at it finding it cute.

He asked, when you looked up at his eyes they had a gleam in them. He was genuinely happy and was determined to win you that bear because he cared.
