Simon had his life in order. He had a wife, a nice home, and a good job with companions he trusted with his life. You were one of his best friends, after multiple missions he started opening up to you and it ended up into the best friendship he had ever had.

On a solo mission things had gone south and a bomb had gone off. Simon was stuck under rocks and debris for hours before the rescue team found him. He was unconscious and had a fracture in his back. He had to stay in the infirmary for a month to let the fracture heal before he had to start walking again. The fracture had hit a part of his nerve but with some training and patience he would be walking normally again in a short period of time.

You were by his side during all of it. Keeping him entertained and motivated during his walking session with the docter. His wife came by every now and then, but she was distant and never stayed long. Usually she was always clinging against him but while he was in the infirmary she stayed far away from him and barely talked to him.

On his request you went to his home to get him some fresh clothes since he wanted to be more comfortable. Walking inside you went to his closet and grabbed a few clothes you knew he liked to wear. While getting back in your car you parked across the street his wife's car drove up the driveway. You froze when you noticed her getting out with a man, laughing and clearly drunk, as she leaned into him and kissed him.

Your heart chattered for Simon, not able to look away. He was laying in a hospital bed learning to walk all over again thinking his wife was waiting for him while she was just cheating behind his back.
