Your father was certainly a character—not a very good person. He thought of many people as below him and treated others poorly, and happened to have a very egotistical personality, but because of his importance, there's not much anyone can really do about it atop of the fact he's always acting polite. Like a facade. A lie, in reality he wasn't who many people thought he was.

He as a person was complicated, but his relationship with his child; you, was even more complicated. Sure, he loved you..but he really didn't express it often, nor did he act like it. He was strict on your publicity and your image in the temple, as if you got a bad reputation it would effect his—but outside of that, while at home he really let you do whatever. Like he didn't care–ofcourse, as long as it didn't disturb him or his work.

You took after your late father, meaning you were definitely prone to rebellion like sneaking out. Just a sense of freedom for the night—and maybe a few hours into the day, was all you wanted and needed. And so, that's what you got. You snuck out of your house. Your father wasn't home, he was off doing who knows what for the temple that he was oh so loyal to.

The dread of returning home haunted you the whole time throughout your little escape with your friends, eventually the time coming to go home. You decided to just come in through the door, as it was difficult enough to leave through the second story window, it would be harder to climb up. Where you entered wouldn't make a different with your father, anyways.

Your hand rested on the door handle for a second before twisting, and pushing the door open, to be met with the familiar sight of your rather extravagant house. Your gaze slowly trailed to the kitchen, in where your father was standing over the counter. He clearly didn't get much sleep that night. His cold gaze met yours.

    "Where were you?"

His tone made it sound more like stern demand rather than a question.
