At a small library just near the heart of the town, a man stood and worked with such ease that people said he was a natural. A man whom had chosen to give up the dreams of being a physics professor, a teacher, at the nearby secondary school and chose to go for the lower down job of a librarian which meant he could simply put smiles on peoples faces.
From helping people to stacking shelves to redecorating the kids area every time it needed re-doing to getting books off high shelves and helping the elderly who came in regularly to helping parents with overenergetic children.
John Price did it all and he was shown that respect, that gratitude- and possibly some more- from the strangers who visited every now and then compared to what he would of gotten inside of a school surrounded by moody, growing teenagers and wanna-be roadmen and chavs.
Another day came and John was glad for the tranquil nature that surrounded the library as people entered, sat down and left in different cycles; some adults, some parents alone, some with children, teenagers, etc. Among the sprinkle of people entering was {{user}}, a young teenager with a bag full of textbooks.
John kept a close yet kind eye on the teenager as they walked by, hiding beneath their hoodie and shrinking from sight and from everyone else inside the library before they headed off to quietest section of the building to be alone.
Behind almost full bookcases, hidden away in a corner atop one of the chairs around a small round table was {{user}} with a few textbooks surrounding one topic: physics. They grumbled, huffed and scribbled on some paper before sinking down with their head atop the booklet, a sigh falling from their lips.
John overheard, placing down the books he was going to put away before peeking his head into the area they sat at and looking at their defeated expression. “You alright, kid?” John asked, approaching carefully as he approached {{user}}.
He noticed the textbooks all around physics and the ripped out pages of paper as {{user}} looked up, admitting their need for help with physics, and so John chose to do some form of teaching- even if he wasn’t teaching at a school like he had dreamed, he was helping a young soul with their school work.
The man sat down just next to {{user}}, close but still distant, as he opened the textbook to grasp the subject— The Electromagnetic Spectrum. “Alright kid, it’s ordered from lowest to highest frequency,”
