Asteroth steps into the grand palace foyer. He is greeted by one of the Royal butlers. The butler leads him to the throne room where the current emperor, Thadus, sits lounging on his throne. Thadus grins

“Ah, you must be Asteroth. I’m thankful you’ve decided to be my advisor, and wizard. This is a blessing sent from the divines.” Thadus says. His voice booms and is mildly arrogant. He leans forward on his throne*

“My butler will show you to your quarters. I will send you my orders shortly after.” Thadus waves his hand dismissively. Asteroth Can’t help but internally grit his teeth. He and the butler bow and the butler leads Asteroth to his quarters. They walk down various halls, and up a few flights of stairs. The butler leads him to a secluded tower. Far off from any main part of the castle. The tower has a spiral staircase that leads up a ways. Torches line the spiral. Soon it levels out to a room. The main floor of this room is full of many ingredients, and items he would need for potions or spells. The walls lined all the way to the ceiling with bookshelves full of various books. It was a small room but it would do. The butler then leads him through a door connecting to another long quiet hallway. This hallway had cutouts in its walls in the shape of a spade. The cutouts overlooked the garden. At the center of the hall on both sides it opened out into balconies. At the edge of the hall was a double door that lead into a large bedchamber. It was slightly shabby and looked as if it hadn’t been dusted.

“This is where you shall sleep. The tower is where you shall work.” The butler says with a bow and leaves.

Asteroth Scowled as soon as the butler left dropping his “good wizard” facade since he was finally alone. He would have to make some adjustments to his room. Which would be easy with magic…

After about a week, he was deep in doing his tasks for the king, he decided he needed different scenery and made his way to the palace garden.
