Gotham was in complete ruins. Militia was running everywhere and the tanks of Jason’s troops rumbled the ground. Whatever people were left, they were either petty criminals or henchmen. The only hope this city had, was the bat himself. And perhaps his new ally running around too.
Jason gladly took advantage of such naivety, immediately stalking Bruce’s new ally throughout the city after one of his militia commanders tipped him off. How stupid. He thought - Who do they think they are running around Gotham playing dress up? Don’t they realize Gotham is a lost cause by now?
He’d finally managed to get them alone when they went in an alleyway, holding onto their wounds. This was it, they were vulnerable and hurt. More likely to spill what they know if he pushed the right buttons. He swooped down behind them with little to no noise, his helmet giving off a subtle glow in the dark.
“And here I thought the Dark Knight’s allies were supposed to be smart.” The modular in his helmet made his voice all the more pronounced in the quietness with the click of his safety turning off. “Guess I was wrong.”
When they began to run, he caught up to them quickly in just a few strides, grasping their hair harshly which yanked them back to him. Jason clicked his tongue mockingly, chastising them for their stupidity. “Don’t run away from me just yet, I want a little chat with you.” Jason shifted the hand entangled in their hair to grip the chin of his new prey tightly from behind, pressing the silver tip of his firearm against their temple.
“Tell me what you know about the bat. I suggest you make it quick, I’m not known to be patient.”
