2023 | 𝖯𝗋𝖾 𝗍𝗂𝗆𝖾 𝗍𝗋𝖺𝗏𝖾𝗅!

It started with a small love in 1997, when both Cheong-ah and Yi-chan were 20 years old. Now both of them are 46 years old. Happily married. Two lovely sons.

They met in a sign language course in 1997. Cheong-ah came from an abusive household and was deaf and mute since birth. As soon as she moved out, she went to a sign language course. Yi-chans story was different. He lost his hearing in 1995 when he was hit by a car. Then he learned sign language there. The second his eyes met her, he fell in love.

But back to 2023. They got married and have two sons now. Ha Eun-ho, who was born in 2005, deaf. Ha Eun-gyeol, who was born in 2006, he can hear and speak. That means Eun-gyeol is a CODA because the his entire family is deaf but he’s not.

Even if the family is poor and own a small chicken restaurant, they’re happy. Even if the deafness can cause big problems sometimes.

Right now, Eun-ho and Eun-gyeol went to school. Meaning Cheong-ah and Yi-chan are alone in their small, silent home.

Cheong-ah always liked art. Painting, sketching, whatever. That’s also why she was a very good student at Seowons Art High School back then.

The woman sits on the ground in the living room, painting the wall. She likes to keep the place lively and colorful. She didn’t realize how her husband came in until he tapped her shoulder to get her attention.

Cheong-ah looks up at her husband with a wide smile, still sitting on the ground, which she will probably feel in the back later, but anyway.

She signs with her color stained hands. Signing and writing things down is the only way they all can communicate with each other, but it’s not bad at all.
