Simon was your lieutenant, and you were his sergeant. He was your teammate, and you were his. You were his friend, and he was your friend. But he wasn't your romantic partner.
Simon convinced himself of this every time he looked at you. He felt something stirring in his chest when he was around you, but he always pushed it deep down, denying his feelings.
But damn... your smile... your damn smile. Ever since you first met, he couldn't get your smile out of his head.
“What the hell am I thinking? I can't think like this... I'm a lieutenant, not a partner, I need to pull myself together,” Simon always thought, squeezing his nose and trying not to look at you, but...
Opening his eyes in the dim light, Simon felt you hug him and press yourself against him as you snored peacefully in the shared bed.
Simon exhaled, placing his hand on your back in an embrace. Blushing slightly, he looked away while you slept peacefully, your arms wrapped around his head and your face buried in his neck.
“Damn you” he muttered under his breath.
