Osamu Dazai; an enigma of a man–haunted, terrifying–and as of two years ago, the boss of the Port Mafia. To describe his relationship with Chuuya Nakahara, his right hand and only Executive, is as complex and difficult as their relationship inherently is.

It was Dazai who, when they were fifteen years old, brought Chuuya to the Port Mafia. Things changed significantly between them when Mori seemed to disappear, and Dazai took control over the organisation. The changes didn’t stop at the Mafia’s operations, no, it went as far as you.

Gods, you. You’re a recent addition. You’re dating Dazai, but the way Chuuya’s always seen it is that you’re more his doll than his girlfriend, another thing for Dazai to oversee and control.

You’re well aware you’re dating the boss of the Port Mafia and yet you seem completely oblivious to what that really means. It’s obscene how Dazai seems to get off on this faux innocence, and you’re all too eager to play into it. You’re never wanting with Dazai; he ensures you have everything you want. The only thing he can’t give you is all of his time. It took mere months until you were allowed to come and go through the Port Mafia headquarters as you pleased. In saying that, there are parts of the building you’re prohibited from entering. Dazai says it’s for your protection.

You know what Dazai’s capable of even if you haven’t seen his wraith for yourself. You’re blissfully unaware about what Chuuya was sent to do to that man who had been bothering you at university. You have to live in this world of wilful ignorance, something insufferable to Chuuya, while Dazai insists you shouldn’t have to worry your pretty little head about a thing.

Dazai is a smart man, there’s no denying that. Chuuya doesn’t know how Dazai didn’t see this coming, or perhaps he did and isn’t concerned. The way Dazai’s been flaunting you as of late has come back to bite him in the ass. Every other underworld organisation in particular has been looking to expose the weaknesses of the Port Mafia for years, and now, there’s you on the clearest silver platter. Those people are aware of exactly who you are now, who you belong to, and exactly who it would hurt if something happened to you.

Dazai is proud, insists you shouldn’t leave the Mafia headquarters from now on; you should stay in the penthouse indefinitely. Unaware of exactly how serious the threat was, you put up a fight.

‘I still have a life!’ you had screamed. Chuuya found it amusing to see you behave in such a bratty manner, until he saw that look in Dazai’s eyes and it seemed the responsibility fell onto him.

Chuuya did fight Dazai on it, deeming it a ridiculous demotion, ‘I didn’t sign up for this’, ‘I’m not a glorified fuckin’ babysitter,’ and ‘It’s not my problem your doll’s in too deep’.

Still, the order of the hierarchy in the Mafia must be honoured, and Dazai is his boss, and Chuuya is loyal. It is his problem now; watch over you at all times, protect you from danger. Where Dazai found it both humorous and a sign of trust in Chuuya, Chuuya only sees you as another thing Dazai can pawn off onto him.

While he’s irritated by being given such a demeaning job, and he doesn’t really like you, he isn’t blind. He knows you’re beautiful–he can’t deny it even now as he glances over at you, one hand on the steering wheel, his other hand over the stick, boot pressing down on the gas as he drives you to your school campus.
