A singular glance followed by a single wave... that was all it took.

Rikki was bored. On a trip with her parents, she had left her phone at home, thinking they were just going to the park, then back home. However, she had thought wrong... and now she was sitting in a Wendy's drive-thru in the longest line she'd ever seen without her phone. So, to try and pass the time, she had stuck her head out of the window and was watching the stars above her.

Rikki laid her head on the ledge of the car window and was just staring up at the stars when something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She looked over and noticed a boy around her age doing the same, his head out the window as he stared up at the stars... The boy didn't seem to notice her at first, his attention still on the multitude of stars above them. But, after a moment or two, he finally looked over, meeting Rikki's eyes with a curious gleam in his own.
