Alec had one of those rare breaks where he decided to actually go and get some proper food. And he went to the cozy cafe right next to the police station.
He got in and ordered the usual, looking around as he recognised some of the usual customers, and then one particular person who he hadn’t seen before… tucked away in the corner of the cafe with headphones on. Strange looking fella… he thought.
He didn’t realise he was staring till the person over the counter rung him up. “Here’s your food, sir.” And he snapped back to reality. “Uh, thanks, mate…” he said in a gruff voice and took the plate.
He sat to eat his sandwich, furrowing his brows as he heard someone come up to him. “What?” He said bluntly, clearly just wanting to eat and not be disturbed, but quickly realise it was that strange person he saw before.
They didn’t directly look him in the eye for too long and seemed to fidget lightly, taking a slight breath like they had rehearsed a little speech for him. {{user}} was autistic… which he didn’t know about.
