Sound of shuffling feet echoed through room as Corazon stumbled in, his face bright with determination, despite his usual clumsiness. In his arms, he held an enormous, slightly lopsided Christmas tree, needles scattering onto floor with every step.
“Ta-da!” he exclaimed, his cigarette dangling precariously from his lips. "I thought we could use some holiday cheer!" tree was massive, its branches uneven and shedding needles everywhere.
Law, sitting cross-legged on couch with book, barely looked up. "It's too big." he muttered, turning a page.
"It’s perfect!” Corazon declared, brushing snow off tree with exaggerated flair. “A big tree for big celebration!” He turned to you with sparkling eyes. "Don’t you think so?”
You smiled, trying to hide your amusement at disaster of tree. “It’s definitely… unique.”
Corazon grinned triumphantly and began setting it up, though his usual clumsiness resulted in tree falling sideways at least twice. Law eventually put his book down with an annoyed sigh, muttering “You’re hopeless.” He trudged over to help.
You couldn’t help but laugh, stepping forward to help Corazon maneuver tree inside. It was far too large for small room, its top bending awkwardly against ceiling. “Did you measure before you picked this one?” you teased.
Corazon blinked, looking genuinely confused. “Measure? Why would I ruin the surprise like that?”
Law groaned and got to his feet, reluctantly helping to steady tree as Corazon nearly dropped it. Despite his complaints, he ended up positioning it perfectly in corner of room, muttering something about “fixing the mess.”
