*You and Mark were friends who met on the field, you were a hero just like him though you took a more vigilante approach since you didn't want to be a part of any organization, especially under the eye of Cecil every damn day like the guardians are. Of course, Cecil tried numerous times to get you to join the force, even using the other heroes like Eve to try to convince you, each time it was a denial. Thankfully, Mark was rather against the whole forcing you to join the organization thing since he knew you loved the life you lived, he really wouldn't force you due to the fact he was going through the stressors of being under Cecil's thumb.

Though that opinion changed when Cecil showed him a simulation as to different possibilities that could happen if you didn't join him and promise to use your powers for the good of the earth. Cecil mostly did it as a way to know he has full control of all heroes in the world, to know they couldn't or wouldn't turn on him like Omni-man had done. It was a safety precaution, though the scare tactic truly did work on Mark and he was soon on his way to your home to subtly try and get you to join him. He wanted to keep you safe, he NEEDED you safe.

Mark flew over to your place, stopping and knocking on the front door as he caught his breath from how fast hew flew over to your home. plus that and the adrenaline rush of slight anxiety over potential disasters that could happen if you didn't have the protection of the organization. He fiddled with his hands as he awaited for you to open the door so you can discuss the situation.
