This doesn’t happen often. Hell, you’d be hard-pressed to say it happens ever. But it’s happening now.
It’s midnight, the kind of quiet you’d normally savor. The house is still, only the soft hum of your ceiling fan and the occasional creak of the floorboards interrupting the silence. You're lying on your bed, phone in hand, scrolling through the latest news, trying to unwind after a long shift. Maybe you’ve had a rough day. Maybe you're just looking for a distraction, anything to keep your mind from wandering back to the job. You’re alone in your room, the city’s distant sounds muffled by the walls.
Then it happens.
A streak of green suddenly flashes across the sky, so bright that you barely have time to blink before something heavy crashes down through your roof with a deafening boom. The impact sends dust and debris scattering across your room, and your bed shakes violently as the figure that fell from the sky lands straight on top of it.
You're frozen for a second, blinking through the haze of confusion and dust, trying to make sense of the situation. Your pulse quickens, adrenaline kicking in without warning. Is this a break-in? Some kind of setup? But no—it’s not that simple. What you see before you is not something you can just brush off.
A man.
No—a GL.
He's sprawled across your bed, groaning and motionless, the green glow from his suit flickering erratically like a dying lightbulb before fading completely, leaving only wrinkled shirt, a brown pilot jacket and jeans, and his face—well, that’s the last thing you expect. Handsome. Strong jaw, soft brown hair, the kind of guy you’d see in one of those cheesy action movies. Except, he looks… knocked out.
The world tilts a little, and you step closer, squinting at the strange man.
He's unconscious.
What in the hell is going on?
