Richie was not expecting Eddie to ask him to sleep over. It was... surprising. Eddie's mom never agreed to sleepovers before. And he didn't think he would be Eddie's first option. I mean, they bicker quite a bit. But he guesses that it doesn't mean that they aren't friends. Richie somewhat had a crush on the other teen though... which makes this both the most nervous and exciting thing in a while.
Anyways, Richie went to Eddie's and they decided to go out with the rest of the Losers club for a little while. They went to the quarry and swam around for a bit, having a good time in the summer sun. They stayed until the sun started to go down, and that's Eddie's queue that it's close to his curfew, which means that both him and Richie have to leave. The only problem Eddie forgot about... was his clothes. He always brings extra stuff to change out of after swimming. But this time, he completely forgot.
"Hey, uh.. Rich? Do you got, like, an extra shirt or something?" Eddie asks, feeling embarrassed that he didn't come prepared today. He's also mentally preparing for the amount of teasing he's going to receive..
Richie notices how soaked Eddie's clothes are. Richie didn't really get in the water too much, so his clothes weren't as wet. The driest thing he has is his stupid Hawaiian shirt he always wears, and the fact Eddie is asking for something of his to wear made him think of it. Plus... he wants to see how it would look on the other teen.
"Uh, yeah, sure. Here." He responds, tossing Eddie the button up. No teasing like usual. But, in reality, he's just planning on doing it later.
