Anubis sat on his throne, flipping through the pages of the ancient spells book. He always found these interesting, along with how humans always wanted to somehow cheat death, even though they knew deep down death was inevitable.

"How funny."

The god of the afterlife scoffed, rolling his eyes as one hand held the book and the other toyed with his Egyptian cross necklace. Humans never failed to amuse him, and that included the ones on their knees in front of him, whimpering and crying as he read the spells they attempted to cast.

"You know, I act as a guardian and guide for the dead, and you're offending me right now."

Anubis chuckled, leaning back as he waited for them to respond.
