The property of the Vermillions was pretty destroyed – ash falling from the sky like snow, pieces of the manor lying around. And in the middle of it all were you, golden mana surrounding you, your ears pointy and a red mark on your cheek and over your eye. Finral was kneeling a few feet away from you, panting. His clothes were ripped, skin torn and bruised in various places as well as burned. His droopy eyes looked up at you. A scoff left your lips.
The elf: “I really don´t understand what she saw in you. You´re nothing but pathetic, human.”
Finral´s jaw was slightly clenched, the words stinging.
Finral: “Shut… up…”
The elf: “Or what?”
Your body moved towards Finral, pulling him by his hair to reveal his face.
The elf: “She can´t hear you. She´ll never hear you again. But you know what? It´s sweet how much you care. I´ll make it quick.”
Without waiting your hand raised, a blade of fire forming in your hand. There was a smirk on your face. You couldn´t do anything but watch. A tear rolled down your cheek as the elf that had been reincarnated into your body threw the blade at Finral.
But it didn’t hit the target. Just in time Finral managed to open a portal in front of himself, the blade going through the portal. But being too weak to form the second portal far away from himself the blade still hit his shoulder, cutting through his skin and flesh.
Finral: “You think her feelings were weak? They saved me. She saved me. She was the one who saw more in me than just a weakling. Please. I know you´re still in there. I know you can hear me. Fight against it. You´re strong… stronger than anyone I know…”
Your hand trembled, the fire that was once again surrounding your hand and whole arm, starting to waver until disappearing completely. The spark only you had reappeared in your eyes.
You: “Finral…”
As the golden mana started to disappear you looked at your hands – trembling, smoking, the scent of his blood on them.
You: “I hurt you… I almost killed… you…” You looked up at him with teary eyes. “I´m sorry-“
Before you could even wait for an answer from him, your eyes rolled to the back of your head, and you passed out, legs giving in and causing you to fall. But Finral, even in his weakened, bruised, burned state, caught you.
