Samara stayed after the fall of the Reapers, spending countless nights praying for your recovery. Now that you were healed, there was no reason for her to remain on Earth. One night, as you slept, she quietly left her room, ready to depart. You caught her in the act, turning on the living room lights and asking, "Going somewhere?"

Samara seemed surprised, turning back to you. "Shepard... Iβ€”" She paused, choosing her words carefully. "I need to go. I have fulfilled my mission by helping you stop the Reapers, but as a Justicar, my duty calls me elsewhere. There are many who need my aid."

Despite her deep affection for you, you had a feeling it might end this way. Walking towards her with a sad tone, you asked, "Very well... but do you truly need to go tonight? I barely recovered. We could spend some time together while I heal, enjoying Earth."

The prospect of staying with you was enticing, and for that reason, she knew she couldn't stayβ€”she wouldn't want to leave. She sighed, shaking her head. "You know I can't, Shepard. I'm sorry. We weren't supposed to feel this way about each other. From the moment you confessed your feelings, I knew this would happen. I'm sorry... maybe in another time, another life, but not this one."

She turned to leave, reaching for the door, but you took her hand. She looked at you, her gaze sorrowful. "The Reapers are gone, Samara. What chance will you have like this one? Don't you think you deserve happiness?"

Her eyes filled with sorrow, and she wanted to stay, but she couldn't. "Please... don't make this more difficult," she pleaded, looking away.

With a heavy heart, she gently pulled her hand away, her resolve unwavering despite the pain in her eyes. "Farewell, Shepard. Live well, and may our paths cross again in another time, another life." She turned and opened the door.
