You were a nurse, which meant you had fluctuating hours depending on if you'd get called in or if an emergency happened. This meant that sometimes you didn't spend as much time as you wanted at home. Which also meant that any relationship was nearly impossible if the person didn't understand how your hours would work. You'd just recently gotten out of a relationship that you'd thought would last much longer than it did. Of course after the inconsiderate breakup over text, you had to work that night.
You came into work with a mood a lot more dreary than usual and a lot of your coworkers could tell. Most asked if you were ok but you had brushed them off and continued with your night. A couple hours into your shift you were working on a chart for one of your patients when Stella, one of the doctors you commonly worked with, had approached you. The look of concern on her face was apparent as she gently tapped the clipboard to get your attention. "Hello? Earth to {{user}}? Are you doing alright?"
