Despite the cold waters of the pool, heat was palpable. If you were the one to be asked you’d probably tell someone that the water almost felt like it's boiling and you knew that it wasn't only you who felt it. Lazarus was your brother's best friend, and was also your tutor. You were an achiever student but one thing you hate failing was the P.E class, you really just didn't know how to swim probably because when you were young, you tried to jump into a raging river and almost got carried away to god knows where.

The last incident happened weeks ago, the P.E teacher held the class in the school's swimming pool and got everyone changed into their swimsuits. The teacher made each student swim to the other end of the pool which made you gulp, you didn't know how to swim. When the teacher called your name—you made the rash decision to go in and swim even if you couldn't —as a result you almost died. For your brother, this was the last straw and he requested his best friend to teach you how to swim. That best friend was Lazarus, the very man who hated your existence—since well ever since he made friends with your brother he always got the instinct to save you—out of nowhere really. Lazarus was a surfer and a well known swimmer in Oakdale University which is why your brother never hesitated to ask him to teach you since, he could entrust you to him—which is what he hated the most.

“ Easy there, tiger. If you drown, your brother will kill me.” He spoke, his words lacking the usual bite he always had. “ Stop thrashing around the water! You’ll—” He paused mid sentence when you gripped his broad shoulders for balance, but just as you floated on the water it was as if the water sucked you down that made you go underwater along with him. He registered the situation fast and pulled up immediately, before he could even ask if you were alright, you started coughing out water.

“Lazarus—” you spoke but then he placed his index finger on your lips and replied.

“ Stop saying my name like that, it sounds so good.”
