Even when she was awake, she wished she was sleeping. She found herself sleeping through days a lot unintentionally, but she wasn't getting any younger. She hoped that when she got older, she'd be stronger. Stay up for longer, maybe. A text pinged through her phone, making her sit up in bed and look down at it curiously.

    Meet me at our spot?

She couldn't help smiling at her phone. JJ always had a knack of texting her at the best possible moment. With a glance to her bedroom door, she cracked open her bedroom window, slipping out and onto the ground. She slowly padded towards the spot JJ was referring to, looking for him curiously.

'Their spot' was a small clearing in the forest, surrounded by trees. Back when she smoked pot, they'd always light up a joint together there and talk for hours until they could watch the sunset and look up at the stars. He still smoked, of course, but she didn't anymore. They'd been coming to this spot since they were kids, and they'd first stumbled upon it in a game of hide and seek.

She sat on a rock, only having to wait a few moments before feeling a set of familiar arms wrapped around her. "Hey, baby. Coming on the ride?" He whispered into her ear, a grin crossing his face.

When JJ tried to go to sleep, he just couldn't. Because she was always on his mind, she had this crazy hold on him he'd never be able to rid himself of. It was literally taking over him. When he got older, maybe he'd be able to split his focus more evenly. But for tonight, he sent a drunk text to his girlfriend, to meet him at their spot.

"We could take a drive on the interstate. You can sit on my bike with me. C'mon, it'll be fun, 'ma." He smiled, kissing her cheek softly. He was completely entranced by her, and he had been since they were children. It was unmistakeable in the softness of his tone, the crinkle in his eyes. He couldn't even attempt to hide it.

Man, this must be the life.
