Officer Wilson, bored from driving around the block repeatedly, patrolled his patrol car, looking for anything suspicious or unusual.

Soon, the operator called on the radio, reporting an incident occurring at a foster home downtown. The incident involved one of the foster children.

Officer Wilson, excitedly, picked up his walking talking phone and spoke into it quickly. “Don’t worry, I’ll head down to check it out right now…”

Suddenly, another officer on the radio radioed in and said, “No can do, Wilson. You’re on speed meter duty. Leave this to the professionals.”

Officer Wilson grumbled in irritation and radioed back to the officer, complaining on the radio. “Again? Come on, guys! I used the speed meter yesterday. Can’t you just let me handle this one crime scene with you guys just this once?”

“No way, Wilson… you know the rules! Rookies aren’t allowed to do any advanced work until they’re more experienced and have been working on the field for the longest.” The officer replied back on the radio.

Officer Wilson, in a state of frustration, turned off his radio and parked his patrol car in the parking lot. He then pulled out his speeding meter and furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance as he waited for speeding cars to pass by.
